Double Trouble

Cat print top: Sent from Heaven; Skinny jeans: Zara; Booties: Aldo; Bag: Prada; Necklace: Forever 21; Friendship bracelet: Girl Shoppe

Just recently, the June-July 2012 Philippine Nursing Licensure exam results came out and last Monday, a friend threw a little thanksgiving party for passing the exam (obviously!). Most of my friends went. I was so happy to have seen those girls 'cause it's been quite a while since we last got together. Also, it was another friend's birthday so we sort of just celebrated it as well.

Moving on to my outfit, since we're only spending the day in my friend's house, I decided to just wear something simple -- top and jeans. I dressed the outfit up a bit, though, by wearing my newly-purchased (Harhar, took me forever to talk my Dad into buying 'em for me. Success!) brogues-slash-booties! What do I call it, anyway? Brogues and booties in one -- exactly why I fell in love with it the first time I saw it. ;-)

Gothic

About three weeks ago, we had our womenswear shoot. This was also the first shoot wherein we got to actually style a full outfit. Exciting, right?! The peg for this shoot is gothic. I'm pretty sure that when you read 'gothic', the first thing that entered your mind was 'black'. Well, I'm right, aren't I?

For the hair, we went with the messy updo. For the make-up, smokey eyes is the key, of course!

I added a touch of gold to the look by using a gold square bangle and a black & gold dangling earrings. I didn't accessorize much, though, because I wanted to draw attention to every detail of the outfit itself. I love each and every piece of garment here. I mean what's not to love? You have lace, faux leather, and extraordinary tights!

What do you guys think?

Makeover by Bianca V.

The best thing is to look natural but it takes make-up to look natural.
- Calvin Klein

If there's one thing you guys, my dear readers, don't know about me yet, it's that I'm a huge fan Bianca Valerio. She inspires me in so many ways plus she's very, very nice! So could you just imagine how happy I was when she asked me if she could give me a makeover?! I even took my midterm exams a week early so I could go. ;-)

The makeover, followed by a photo shoot (Yes, a photo shoot! For the newspaper! :D), happened way back in January and finally, after seven months of waiting, the article finally came out. Good thing  a friend saw the feature and informed me about it!

Since it's my first ever -- and probably my last -- photo shoot, I was so excited to get a copy of the paper. And when I finally saw it, I was awed by how huge the photo was. Harhar.

Creative Beauty Shoot

Hi, dolls! I know I've been MIA for so long but now I'm back and I have a little something for you. :) If you drop by and read my blog regularly, I'm pretty sure you know that I'm currently taking up Fashion Styling. Two weeks ago, we finally had our first photo shoot. Not only did we get to style the model; we were actually the ones who planned everything -- hair, make-up, etc.

For this shoot, we had nine layouts. We went from clean to glamour to avant garde -- make-up was from light to dark, hair was from messy to pulled back to styled, accessories and outfits were from few/bare to layered. I'm sure you get what I mean but to better understand, here are the photos!

Styling by yours truly!

I'm really proud of this, although there's still room for improvement! It's only my first, after all. ;-) Also, for me, this isn't it just yet. Styling, I mean. Since it's only a creative beauty shoot, I basically picked out a top and an accessory and voila. Styling for me is this: I'm given pieces of garments to choose from and I create outfits from it.

7 Day Challenge x Sunny

The seventh and last theme for our 7 Day Challenge homework is 'day'. For this, I will not be posting a photo because I only submitted a photo of one of my previous outfits. Talk about recycling! ;-) Remember this? I used it for my day outfit. If it's not a Sunday, I usually just wear shorts when going out. With the weather here in the Philippines, it's just hard not to. Also, whenever I feel like it, I wear heels. Whenever I'm feeling lazy though, or I just want something comfortable, I opt for flats or sandals. What about you guys? What do you usually wear on a day out?

P.S. Hope you guys enjoyed the 7 Day Challenge! Will be back to posting usual outfit posts. Heehee.

7 Day Challenge x Jumpin' in Leather

Mustard-yellow sheer button-down top: I.Candy (The Ramp); Cropped denim shorts: Topshop; Studded leather boots: Sent from Heaven; Bag: Mango; Braided belt: Forever 21; Necklace: Forever 21

The sixth theme for the 7 Day Challenge is concert/art exhibit. To be honest, I spent hours looking for an outfit for this theme. It's just so difficult 'cause I'm not really fond of watching concerts. I can barely remember the last concert that I've been to! Haha. I believe it really just depends on the artist and one's mood when planning an outfit for such occasion. Anyway, after hours of searching my closet, I finally came up with something. What do you think?

7 Day Challenge x Breezy

Floral romper: Zara; Sandals: Jeffrey Campbell; Canvas bag: Metrowear Rocks fashion show giveaway

The fifth theme for the 7 Day Challenge is 'resort'. I need not say more -- this one piece is screaming for the beach (I even remember wearing it a few summers ago to a resort.)! What I like about this romper is that it's an instant outfit! I just paired it with those slingback sandals and grabbed that canvas bag. Voila! I'm ready  for the beach! Too bad, summer's over, huh?
